The Healy Law Firm - Exceptional Results

The Healy Law Firm has an established reputation for providing exceptional legal representation to injured people and their families in even the most difficult, complex personal injury and wrongful death cases. Our attorneys are dedicated advocates for our clients in cases involving product liability, transportation, interstate trucking, auto and railroad injury, aviation injury, medical malpractice, on-the-job injuries, workers compensation, construction injury, premises liability and other serious or catastrophic injuries.

Our Results Speak For Us

Our attorneys' dedication to clients and willingness to fight for full compensation and justice has made the Healy Law Firm one of the top-ranked firms in Chicago. Cases handled by the firm have set legal precedents in Illinois, and we have achieved landmark verdicts and settlements in many cases.

During the last two years, for example, the attorneys at the Healy Law Firm have recorded five settlements and verdicts totaling approximately $60 million. These include:

  • a $20.2 million jury verdict in November 2007 awarded to three families whose children were killed when a Dean Foods tractor-trailer struck the car in which they were riding at an intersection in Indiana (attorneys from The Healy Law Firm represented the estates of the two young people who were passengers in the car);
  • a $20.7 million settlement involving hemi-paresis and the death of a child from a Plymouth Voyager minivan; the van stalled in traffic as a result of a defective fuel pump and was struck by another vehicle;
  • a $9.2 million jury verdict for a wrongful death on a construction site; plaintiff was run over and killed by a dump truck;
  • a medical mistake which resulted in a $5.2 million settlement for failure to diagnose a perforated ulcer; plaintiff, a 53 year old woman who sustained brain damage; and
  • $6 million jury verdict for an Irish carpenter who sustained a mild brain injury when he was struck by a school bus.

Previous to these verdicts and settlements, the firm obtained a $24 million verdict in O'Brien v. Yamaha, involving a defective motorcycle, which was the largest verdict for a paraplegic in Illinois.

We Speak For The Injured

The attorneys at the Healy Law firm are dedicated advocates for our injured clients and their families and never back down from big corporations or big insurance companies. We have the experience and resources to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of an injury or death, even in the most challenging cases, and make sure our clients get full and fair compensation for their loss.

Known for our scrupulous ethics and straightforward representation, our attorneys have earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike. Six attorneys at the firm have been selected to Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars.

The Healy Law Firm takes the safety of others, especially children, as a serious concern. For example, Martin Healy, Jr, while President of ITLA, initiated the Bike Helmet Project in Illinois, a program that provides free distribution of bike helmets to children in the Chicago area to help keep them safe when riding bikes. Every year 350,000 children under the age of 15 go to the hospital emergency rooms with bike related injuries. Of those, 130,000 suffer head injuries. Wearing helmets can prevent 80 percent of deaths and 88 percent of brain injuries from bicycle crashes.

Clients know that we will do everything in our power to help them and, whenever possible, help to prevent future tragedies.
