Dan Malone graduated from the University of Illinois and DePaul University School of Law. He is a partner of the Healy Law Firm since January, 2001.
He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now the American Association for Justice (ATLA/AAJ), Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association and the Chicago Bar Association where he has served on the Nominating Committee. He currently serves as the Vice President and was the former Treasurer and on the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Association. He is on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
He has obtained numerous exceptional results for clients including a $16 million dollar verdict for the death of two teenagers, a $5.25 million medical malpractice settlement for brain damage of a 49-year-old female, a confidential settlement for the death of a husband and wife against a municipal police department, a $2.5 million verdict for a Teamster who sustained a serious back injury and a million dollar settlement for a security technician who sustained a traumatic brain injury.
He has lectured, moderated and written in various areas of tort law, workers' compensation and trial practice. He is published in Callaghan's Trial Practice Series, "Opening Statements" and author of a chapter entitled "Settlement Contracts" in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Workers' Compensation Trial Notebook. He made a presentation about Illinois Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist coverage for the Illinois State Bar Association.
Over his career as an attorney, he has successfully represented over 900 injured victims in different forums including jury trials, arbitrations and mediations for products liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, construction, automobile, nursing home and workers' compensation cases. Also, he has argued appeals in the Illinois Appellate Courts.
Dan is active in his community, serving as a cantor, in the choir and Chairman of the Finance Committee of St. Mary Star of the Sea. Also, he is a long term Commissioner and was the former Chairman of the Southwest Home Equity Assurance Program. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the Midway Noise Compatibility Commission.
