Matthew J. Healy concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability and workers' compensation. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Workers Compensation Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

Matt has authored and co-authored legal articles concerning personal injury and products liability that have been published by the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Irish American News.

Prior to joining the Healy Law Firm, Matt was an associate in a Chicago defense firm where he concentrated his practice in representing doctors and hospitals in medical negligence litigation.

Prior to defense practice, he served clerkships in the Cook County Circuit Court, drafting legal opinions for judges in the Chancery Division, in the Law Division-Commercial, and in the Law Division-Motions.

Matthew is a Cum Laude Graduate of the University of Notre Dame, B.A., 1996. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois School of Law in 2003, where he was a member of the Trial Team and Environmental Moot Court. During law school, Matt interned for the Illinois Speaker of the House’s staff of attorneys in Springfield and law clerked in the Champaign County Circuit Court.

During college and before law school, Matt operated heavy construction equipment as a Local 150 operating engineer.

$25.1 million jury verdict for a driver who was rendered paraplegic in an intersection collision in Schaumburg. This was the largest verdict in Illinois for a case involving paraplegia.
$25 Million jury verdict for one driver involved in an Intersection collision which rendered both drivers paraplegics.
$24 million jury verdict against Yamaha for a victim who became a paraplegic due to a defective motorcycle. This was the largest verdict in Cook County for a paraplegic.
$23.7 million for victims of a trucking accident in Plainfield that resulted in two deaths and a severe injury to a third person. The jury verdict was the largest ever in Will County.
$20.2 Million Judgment Entered Against Dean Foods and Tractor-Trailer Driver for the Death of three teenagers on 4th of July weekend.
$12 Million Settlement for two mechanics killed when fire erupted at Clark Refinery.
$9 Million Judgment Entered Against Trucking Company and Driver for running over a laborer on a construction site.
$8.1 million jury verdict verdict for a person who was rendered quadriplegic after diving into a residential swimming pool in Palos Hills. The jury verdict was the largest in Illinois for a swimming pool accident.
$7.5 Million awarded by jury in Wrongful Death suit against town of Cicero for Halloween crash.
